Snaptrip says

Ploony Hill Lodge is highly praised for its peaceful and secluded setting, offering a homely and well-equipped retreat with a hot tub and quality appliances. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches upon arrival and the lodge's cleanliness. The secure garden and surrounding walks are perfect for dogs, and the hosts are commended for their helpfulness. The property's remote location requires a car, and the approach involves a bumpy track.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently mention the lodge's cleanliness, describing it as immaculate, tidy, and well-kept. The attention to cleanliness is evident in the reviews, suggesting a high standard maintained by the hosts.

The lodge's location is celebrated for its tranquillity, privacy, and beautiful scenery. It is noted as secluded and ideal for a peaceful retreat, although the access road is mentioned as bumpy and the area is remote, requiring a car.

Comfort is highlighted with mentions of cosy underfloor heating, a homely feel, and spacious accommodation. However, a single review mentioning a less comfortable bed slightly impacts the otherwise excellent comfort feedback.

Facilities such as the hot tub, barbecue area, pizza oven, and quality kitchen appliances are well-received. Some reviews suggest room for improvement in maintenance, such as the shower temperature and a log burner issue, leading to a slightly lower score.

Many reviews express gratitude for the thoughtful welcome gifts, including wine, Welsh cakes, and flowers, enhancing the guest experience. It is important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Can’t recommend them enough, perfect location, and the lodge has everything you could possibly think of. It’s amazing for the doggies as well, they loved playing in the garden and exploring around the lodge. Can’t wait for our next visit!!

It is situated on a farm surrounded by fields. The lodge itself was lovely! So cosy and just what we were after. The surrounding area is beautiful and we headed off on some brilliant adventures with our dogs. Having the hot tub to relax in was amazing!! The enclosed area surrounding the lodge was perfect for the dogs. Being able to let them out without needing leads was great. We had an amazing time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. The dogs loved driving passed the sheep and goats to and from the lodge!

It could do with a few tweaks and I like to leave honest reviews with constructive criticism. Overall it was a nice quiet getaway with beautiful surroundings and nice walks including straight from the gate. Loved the big enclosed garden for our pooch who also loved the outside hot water tap after a walk in the muddy fields! The pizza oven was new for us so that was great fun and toasting marshmallows for super was a great treat! The underfloor heating was toasty and the kitchen was well equipped. It was decorated for Xmas and a bottle of tasty prosecco was a nice touch and a pint of milk also. Hot tub was nice, good windbreaker/privacy screen to pull across as it can feel like you are overlooked by the Cabin on the hill. Great that the hot tub had Wi-Fi, only one speaker was working but still loud enough. So we had originally booked and paid for the Cabin at the top of the hill but was then contacted by Sykes to let us know that it wasn’t actually available but the lodge was, so that was lucky! The photos need updating as it shows nice reclining sofas in the first half of the pictures and then changes to what they actually are in the second half of the pictures… not reclining and not very comfortable unfortunately. We didn’t find the mattress very comfy as it dipped a lot in the middle but everyone’s comfort is different. We were told on the day before arrival not to use the front door as it wasn’t working properly and that it would be fixed after Xmas so hopefully that’s all good now. We were left information to say no cushions were on the sofas etc or board games and dvds available due to ‘Covid19’, however we did find the board games and dvds in the utility room so a little bit confused by that. Shower head needed a good scrub to remove lime scale which was blocking up the holes. Water temperature of the shower was very temperamental, however owner was more than happy to change the shower and communicated well, however we decided it wasn’t a massive drama so was happy for them to leave it over Xmas and hopefully it’s all good now. Log burner is always a favourite of ours, however a puddle of water seemed to form on the top of it which then constantly dripped on to the fire place. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
