Nearby towns like Rhayader, Presteigne, and Knighton offer independent shops, art galleries, and historic sites, including Offa’s Dyke Path for walking. If you’re feeling adventurous, head to Gilfach Nature Reserve, where red kites soar overhead and otters can sometimes be seen in the river. 20 / 10. If we could give 30/10, we would. Lovely getaway, with a town ten minutes away. Great pub just two minutes away. Spacious and light. Sheer comfort. Even storm Dave was a great show ender. Recommended just for the peace and quiet.

We were at Caeley cottage for 4 nights and felt the accommodation was spacious and had all we needed for the 5 of us. Tea/coffee/ sugar/ milk/ sale&pepper provided along with dishwasher tablets, washing powder for the washing machine and a well equipped kitchen. The house is warm and the three bedrooms offer flexible sleeping arrangements, although there are three king-size beds, there are two single folding beds upstairs and the two sofas downstairs could be used to sleep on if you needed a separate sleeping area. Only minor inconvenience the TV, which isn't smart, so no BBC iPlayer or other on demand TV, leaving you with limited options in the evenings. There's plenty to see in the area within an hour drive, beautiful rural area. The outside space of the house is more of a farmyard as opposed to landscaped gardens, and therefore there aren't amazing views or BBQ facilities if you wanted that kind of thing in the summer, but if you are a large travel party and you will spend most of your day out and about, this is a perfect place to stay. Very kind hosts (Debra and Lawrence), they live nextdoor to the cottage, therefore just there if you need anything.
