Guests consistently praise The Old Cider Mill for its peaceful and beautiful location, cosy and well-furnished interiors, and the warm hospitality of hosts Annie and John. The property's charm is enhanced by its surrounding wildlife and countryside views, with many guests enjoying the tranquility and the opportunity to relax by the log fire or in the roll-top bath. The thoughtful touches, such as freshly baked bread on arrival, contribute to the delightful experience.
The property is repeatedly described as spotlessly clean, with no negative comments regarding cleanliness, indicating that guests are very satisfied with the standard of hygiene and upkeep.
The location is highly praised for its tranquility, beautiful countryside views, and proximity to local attractions. The only minor drawback mentioned is the rough access track, which does not seem to significantly detract from the overall positive impression of the location.
Guests find the property very cosy and comfortable, with a warm log burner and a relaxing bath. The only minor issue raised is the size of the bed, which may feel small to some guests, but this does not appear to be a widespread concern.
The facilities are well-received, with guests appreciating the fully equipped kitchen, the fire pit, and the overall maintenance of the property. The high quality of the facilities is evident in the guests' feedback, with no significant complaints.
The hosts' thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests touched by the welcome pack that often includes freshly baked bread. While these gifts are greatly appreciated, it is important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

The Old Cider Mill is nestled in the owner’s land opposite one of the oldest houses in Wales, orginally built for Henry IV as a hunting lodge. This barn itself dates back to 1402 and was built to produce cider for the hunting lodge when Owain Glyndwr, the only native Welshman to hold the title ’Prince of Wales’, was at war with Henry IV. Indeed, the property is thought to have been built specifically for him and there are many original features that have been retained.
The barn comprises of a large open plan kitchen/dining room with fitted appliances and a Rayburn oven. This then leads to a large living area with an electric fire. Upstairs is a double bedroom and a marble en-suite bathroom with a free standing bath.
There are some great views to be had from the patio area of the barn and some lovely wildlife ponds to look over. There is a wild rabbit that comes to visit and eat some of the plants by the barn. Some great walks are to be had directly from the property and lots of open space for your pets to run around, though please keep them on a lead when walking through livestock fields. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.

We had a lovely, relaxing stay in The Old Cider Mill. We were greeted with a warm welcome (and a glass of wine and a freshly baked loaf of bread!) from the friendly owners and were immediately impressed by the large downstairs space with its quirky decor, a fire laid in the wood-burning stove, and a tastefully decorated Christmas tree. Some people might not appreciate such a quiet, isolated location, but it was perfect for our wish to "get away from it all".
