We went primarily for the Builth Wells Antique Fair but found the cottage a great base to visit the surrounding Mid Wales area. The Elan Valley Dams in particular were only 20 minutes away and great for scenic walks. The cottage's upside down layout was great, as it meant the views over the surrounding countryside were easily seen. It had everything you could need and some, incluing a welcome cake from Sara. And the passing trains were an added bonus as we felt like big kids rushing to the window to watch them stop or trundle by - only approx 8 a day so not constant noise. All in all a great week.

There are great views from the lounge and kitchen due to the living quarters being upstairs and the bedrooms located on the ground floor. The accommodation is about the cleanest we've stayed in. The owner who lives next door was wonderfully helpful and friendly as well as providing us with delicious homemade cake. This property is very well equipped.
