Dark Sky Lodge is a cosy retreat embraced by nature, offering peace and tranquillity. Guests praise the warm welcome, including a lit fire and home bakes, and the abundance of wildlife. The lodge's location is ideal for outdoor activities and stargazing, with comfortable and clean accommodation. While one review mentions cleanliness issues, the majority highlight a spotless environment and exceptional hospitality.
Most guests found the lodge spotless and comfortable, contributing to a high cleanliness rating. However, one review citing cleanliness concerns slightly lowers the score.
The lodge's secluded setting is highly appreciated for its proximity to nature and outdoor activities, despite being a drive away from shops, which is ideal for those seeking a peaceful escape.
Guests consistently report a very comfortable stay, with a warm, cosy atmosphere enhanced by the log burner and comfortable beds, ensuring a high comfort rating.
While guests are generally satisfied with the lodge's amenities, there is insufficient detail in the reviews to accurately assess the overall state of facilities and maintenance.
The hosts' thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with gestures like a lit fire and baked treats on arrival. However, it's important to note that such personal touches, while common, are not guaranteed.

It was the perfect place to hunker down while Storm Claudia raged. The cottage was warm and cosy, the log burner was very efficient and we were given a generous supply of logs. The bird table and feeders attracted hundreds of birds every day, mostly tits of various kinds, but also Siskin and woodpeckers. The kitchen was well supplied with equipment, the beds were very comfortable, and the cottage was spotless. I have no hesitation in recommending it to others who want peace, quiet, and being surrounded by nature.

The lodge was absolutely beautiful. Having arrived later then planned, we were welcomed by the fire being lit and the lodge being all warm and cosy! The home bakes that were left for us were a really nice touch and went down well with our 2 boys. They loved seeing the ducks and the dogs in the morning too. We really appreciated all the little extras that were done for us, the hospitality was exceptional and we really felt at home with some lovely family walks. We book a holiday every year where the boys do not have any electronics and this was by far the best one yet! So good in fact that we have already decided to come back in 2 years time. Thank you so much Rosemary and Paul, you really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home.

Dark Sky Lodge is nestled in a wonderful woodland setting full of garden birds and rabbits, a stones throw away from views of beautiful moorland and mountains. The lodge is beautifully presented and has a lovely garden, it is very private although the owners are nearby if you need anything. The owners are very welcoming and full of tips of the best places to visit. There is so much to see in the local area, a particular highlight for us was the Red Kite Feeding Station about 15mins away. There are mountains, lakes, waterfalls, a gold mine, castles and amazing walks nearby and within easy reach. The stars are brilliant on a clear, dark night. The cottage was warm using the log burner and a generous first basket of logs was supplied along with a huge selection of delicious cakes. Be aware that there are not many supermarkets in the area but Brecon (15 miles) has everything you could need.
