About this property

A beautifully presented traditional cottage located in the village of Beguildy near to Knighton in Powys, mid Wales. Retaining much of its original charm and character, the cottage has an abundance of traditional features including exposed brickwork and beams, and traditional doors. After a busy day exploring guests can hang their coats in the porch, before retreating to the cosy open plan living area. Here guests can warm up by the woodburning stove or prepare a meal in the well-equipped kitchen area. Upstairs, there are two immaculate bedrooms with lovely views of the rolling hills. Rest in the spacious master bedroom whilst the youngsters watch TV in the single bedroom. Outside there is a small patio area with seating to admire the countryside views or guests can take a short walk to the private lawned garden. The pretty village of Beguildy features a Black and White timbered pub serving real ale and home-cooked food, as well as a very well-stocked village shop and a Post Office. There are plenty of walks and cycling routes just on the doorstep of this cottage, making it the perfect base for exploring this part of Wales.

The small village of Beguildy sits amongst peaceful countryside on the edge of the Welsh/English border. Surrounded by green landscapes, the village hosts a public house serving good food, a shop and a Post Office for daily essentials. There is access for those who wish to explore Beacon Hill, plus a 5-mile route for horse riders can be reached on the nearby beautiful Glyndwr's Way National Trail, as well as the Kerry Ridgeway or Jack Mytton Way. An abundance of walks and cycle routes at Offa’s Dyke provide fantastic views, and red kite and grouse can often be spotted. The neighbouring village of Knucklas boasts an ancient 13th century castle mound and an imposing viaduct built in 1865. A short drive away is the market town of Knighton, which is a celebrated location for walking, horse riding and cycling. Knighton also offers a farmers' market once a month selling local Shropshire and Welsh produce. A wonderfully peaceful location for exploring beautiful mid Wales and Shropshire.
