About this property

Pembroke 3 miles. This charming stone barn conversion, attached to the owner’s home, is located three miles from the town of Pembroke in Pembrokeshire. The barn is part of a courtyard, set down a private single lane, where farm buildings have been lovingly converted into holiday homes. You start to relax as you drive into this peaceful country location, with fields and woodland all around. This beautifully presented stone cottage is located at the far end of the courtyard. With its underfloor heating in the kitchen and living areas, plus its warming woodburner, even on the coolest of days you’ll be warm and cosy. The kitchen is well equipped for the chef of the party and the dining area provides an ideal place to chat as the meals are prepared or perhaps even for a game of cards. The welcoming woodburner in the sitting room will entice you to snuggle up in front of the TV or sit and do a bit of bird spotting in the trees, seen through the patio doors. The two bedrooms on the first floor with sloping ceilings and open beams are the perfect place to rest with a good night’s sleep after a fun day out. Sitting or playing in the garden in such peaceful surroundings will start and end your days perfectly. From such a charming cottage, you may not to wish to venture far, however there are walks from the doorstep, and a short drive will take you to Pembroke with its magnificent castle. Enjoy days out on the local sandy beaches, walks along the coast path or round the lily ponds, or perhaps a wondrous visit to St Govan’s Chapel set in the rocks. With such an array of attractions on offer, your days can be as busy or relaxing as you choose. Then, return to this welcoming cottage, to plan the next day’s adventures.

A medieval walled town, Pembroke is home to a magnificent castle, which was the birthplace of Henry Tudor. In an idyllic location, on the river estuary, this historic town has an abundance of shops, quaint tea rooms and restaurants. The stunning Pembrokeshire coastline is nearby, with its award-winning beaches and great coastal walks along the coastal path.

Welcomed with fresh milk and biscuits, the cottage is clean and has everything you need to stay whether you are a family with children or all adults. We stayed in the summer and enjoyed the fact that it is a short drive into Pembroke Town and about a 15 minute drive to Freshwater West and Stackpole Quay (national trust) that is a short walk to Barafundle Beach. Only 30 mins drive to Tenby. Our first time visiting Wales and we fell in love with it. Wish we’d booked 2 weeks so we could have visited everything in the area. Would recommend visiting Narberth town centre too as it’s got a market and some lovely shops with hidden tapas bars! All in all we would highly recommend Wagtail Cottage. Having our own drive for the car, the Amazon stick and dvd player (with lots of quite up to date dvds included) for those cosy movie nights in and a well equipped kitchen for cooking dinners every night really added the homely touches for us as a family of 4.

Fantastic cottage, but a little remote for a beach holiday, once your back at the cottage , was hard to travel anywhere for evening meal, also local pub was never open ,

There were a few cobwebs about that had been missed, and perhaps there could be an option for non-feathered pillows for people with Allergies, but overall a comfy place to stay whilst exploring the area. The handy book could do with an update.
