About this property

This is a comfortable, dog friendly, modern cottage, situated in the small coastal hamlet of Penycwm, a mile from Newgale and its popular surfer’s beach and three miles from Solva and its picturesque harbour.

The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is a three minute walk from the cottage. Alternatively, the seasonal coastal shuttle bus or the regular service bus can be caught at the end of the road.

The magnificent beach at Newgale and its’ almost two miles of sand, is perfect for the whole family. It is ideal for long walks, swimming and surfing.

Within a short drive are the beaches of Broad Haven and Little Haven and the city of St Davids, where boat trips to Ramsey and Skomer islands can be booked. The county town of Haverfordwest is also within easy reach.

The scattered village of Newgale in Pembrokeshire is pretty much as close to the beach as you can get. There is a well stocked shop, a pub and a cafe serving a variety of foods while you relax and take in the breathtaking sea views. This is a surfers paradise all year round, while families will love the 2-mile long stretch of sandy beach, and with direct access to the spectacular Pembrokeshire Coast Path, this is a dream location for walkers and bird watchers. The cyclists in your party will enjoy the nearby cycle path, while others may enjoy the majestic St. Davids Cathedral in the "smallest city" in Wales, the array of beautiful unspoilt sandy beaches or a day of thrills and spills at Oakwood Theme Park. All year round and for all ages, this is a perfect location for your Welsh holiday.

    The settees were very uncomfortable.

The house is very well equipped. Previous reviewers have commented that the King size bed and living room furniture are uncomfortable. Both have been replaced. The house is quite clean but needs a good clean under the beds and sofas etc, a few dust webs. The heating and hot water failed but within 1.5 hours Sykes had sorted someone to visit us and fixed the issue. Although there is parking for up to 3 cars you have to reverse to the house up a narrow shared driveway. I'd definitely return again but sadly this house is up for sale.

Dotty, the Westie loved the dog toy box and the safe, fully enclosed garden. The house was chosen as it was particularly well suited for my brother in law, who has severe mobility problems. From the gentle, paved slope to access the property to having a downstairs en-suite bedroom and having everything downstairs on one level was ideal for him. The lovely welcome hamper with toiletries, wine, fudge, dog treats and coffee was an unexpected, lovely surprise. The cottage is in a lovely quiet spot, with hardly any passing traffic and having no street lamps makes for wonderful viewing of the night sky. The location of the cottage is ideal for Newgale beach (one of our favourite Pembrokeshire beaches) and not far from Solva. We would happily stay at Dill Cottage again.
