Inside, the single-storey accommodation centres around a bright and spacious open-plan living area, where large windows frame 270° views northward across meadows towards the tree-lined Monnow River, southward towards deciduous woodland above the farm and eastward towards the rising sun. Originally built by the owner's grandfather in 1924, the former dairy has been thoughtfully transformed into a welcoming holiday home that retains a strong connection to its rural surroundings. The two generous bedrooms can be arranged as either four singles or two plush king-size beds, offering flexibility for families, couples, or friends travelling together. Outside, guests can make the most of the property's private lawn and terrace, ideal for al fresco dining, leisurely picnics, or simply admiring the uninterrupted views. Nature lovers may spot kingfishers, red kites, and cranes, while the area's renowned dark skies provide

exceptional stargazing opportunities after nightfall. Accessed via a private gravel driveway with ample parking, Ynys offers a true countryside escape. While there is good 4G and some 5G coverage ( depending on service provider), the property intentionally has no WiFi or TV, encouraging guests to switch off from the pace of everyday life and enjoy the beauty of the natural world. Just a short drive away lies Ewyas Harold Common, a rich mosaic of habitats teeming with life. The ancient village of Ewyas Harold is situated on the Dulas Brook, in the Golden Valley, close to the Welsh Border. The thriving village has two inns, a well-stocked shop selling local produce, a Post Office and an award-winning fish and chip shop, as well as Ewyas Harold Common, a large area of land rich in wildlife. Nearby, the pretty village of Abbey Dore is situated on the River Dore and is home to the old established Abbey Dore Court Gardens, open between April and September, along with the 12th century Cistercian abbey and parish church, open to the public. Just 13 miles away is the ancient city of Hereford, which dates back to the 7th century and is home to a magnificent cathedral, the famous 'chained library', Mappa Mundi and a medieval bridge over the winding River Wye. The wonderful market town of Hay-on-Wye, is also nearby, famous for its 30-plus book shops, excellent pubs, restaurants and antique shops, plus the picturesque market town of Abergavenny, the Gateway to Wales, nestles between the seven mountains which surround it. The town boasts a castle with its own museum, churches, an indoor market hall, good shops and a multitude of pubs and restaurants. Ewyas Harold is also close to the Offa's Dyke and Wye Valley Walk, Brecon Beacon National Park and Black Mountains. An ideal base for exploring the area.
