About this property

Talhenbont Hall, built in 1607 was once the home of William Vaughan and was used as a garrison for Cromwell's soldiers during the Civil War. Steeped in history this stunning Grade II listed 17th century manor house is a truly wonderful example of architecture of its day and offers a rare insight to estate life of a bygone era. Perfect for a very special holiday, a family reunion or that really special birthday or anniversary, Talhenbont Hall provides a unique holiday experience in what must be one of the most imposing private houses on the Llyn Peninsula. Sympathetically restored and renovated with impressive original features including a stunning Minton tiled floor, handsome oak-panelled rooms, superb fireplaces and a coat of arms, impressive and intricate stained glass and leaded light windows, wonderful external stonework and even the original set of servants’ bells! The Hall is well proportioned with beautiful views across the gardens and grounds from most of the principle rooms. Internally the house has elegant reception rooms, many with high decorative ceilings. Retire after a busy day to the stunning sitting room with an impressive stone fireplace and wonderful Chesterfield sofas, perfect to sink into to relax in front of a roaring open fire and chat about your day’s adventures whilst the kids head next door to the TV room where they can hide away and watch their favourite movie or play a game from the wonderful selection offered. The original butler’s pantry is now the kitchen, small in comparison to the rest of the property but together with the breakfast room, with a wonderful warming AGA is well-equipped and caters for all your needs and from which you can prepare a family meal to be served in the elegant and stylish dining room.

The beautiful turned pitch pine staircase takes you up to five individually styled and designed bedrooms, including a stunning panelled four poster room and two bathrooms as well as one shower room. Talhenbont Hall is an exceptional holiday hideaway offering a stunning sanctuary and wonderful base from which to discover the delights of the Llyn Peninsula, Snowdonia National Park and North Wales. Note: This property can be booked with Refs 379, 380, 381, 382 and 383, together they sleep 42.

Set in a truly idyllic position is the 100-acre estate of Talhenbont, situated in the beautiful unspoiled countryside of the Lleyn Peninsula. Within this small scattering of immaculately renovated cottages are many interesting activities for the guests, such as outdoor chess, access to an all-weather tennis court, pet animals, which welcome a friendly feeding and cuddle, as well as a bird house, cheerfully known as 'The Quackery'. Outside the estate are other exciting attractions such as a mile and a half stretch of river - perfect for walks along the bank and with areas safe enough for children to play or paddle. Also in the region are a selection of castles, beaches and golf courses, not to mention local restaurants and inns which provide an extensive range of succulent dishes.
