Guests say

Y Stabal offers stunning mountain views and a peaceful rural setting, making it an excellent base for exploring North Wales and Snowdonia. Guests appreciate the spacious layout, cosy atmosphere, and dog-friendly garden. While many found the cottage comfortable and well-equipped, some noted areas needing attention, such as cleanliness, maintenance, and the provision of essentials. The location and scenery are consistently praised, and most guests enjoyed their stay, with several planning to return.

Cleanliness is mixed, with several guests finding the property clean, especially bathrooms, while others reported cobwebs, spiders, dust, and areas needing a deep clean. Some mentioned dirty crockery and neglected surfaces, indicating inconsistency in cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful views, proximity to Snowdonia, local attractions, and convenience to amenities. Guests consistently highlight the scenery and peaceful countryside setting as standout features.

Many guests found the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the log burner and underfloor heating. However, some mentioned uncomfortable or creaky beds, worn furniture, and issues with noise from the nearby road, leading to a varied experience.

Facilities are generally adequate, with guests appreciating the layout, bathrooms, and kitchen. However, recurring issues include maintenance needs (leaking showers, broken furniture, faulty appliances), lack of essentials, and unreliable Wi-Fi. Some guests noted missing instructions and limited equipment.

There are no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches. Several guests noted the absence of basics such as soap, washing up liquid, and a welcome/information book. The property could benefit from more attention to guest needs and communication.

We’ve stayed in both properties and preferred Stabal Bit of general maintenance still needed, decoration started but not finished and back door very difficult to close near impossible during the very hot wrather with the upvc door expanding, Overall though I’d give our week a 8/10. As usual we’ve re-booked another week later in the year.

Now it is poorly maintained and the owner is unresponsive to issues. Very disappointing.

The property felt a little unclean (marks on lounge walls, bathroom surfaces neglected), and the weekly cleaner should spend more time on it. Suggestions: provide a welcome book with Wi-Fi info, recycling, and property info; schedule regular deep cleans (carpets, upholstery, update old bedding); fix broken toilet seats, leaking shower, loose lounge window, damaged kitchen cupboards, and touch up paint/plaster. A real shame — the place has huge potential but feels a little unloved for a paid holiday rental.
