This charming home sits in an elevated position right on the canal in the little village of Froncysyllte near Llangollen, Clwyd. Affording glorious views of the Vale of Llangollen, and with a fantastic view of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct Heritage Site, Nantclwyd is a heart-warming escape for families and friends in any season. You approach the cottage along a steep track leading to the off-road parking space, before stepping into the entrance hall and getting to know your new home from home. The house chef can get acquainted in the kitchen, hosting a range of appliances to assist with home-cooking, whilst the rest of the group sets the dining table with crockery and cutlery. After a filling feast, grab a favourite beverage and sit in the sunroom, complete with fairy lights that offer a calming ambiance at night, whilst the lounge is ideal should you fancy a TV catchup. As you look to settle down for the night, there are three bedrooms to choose from, including two doubles and a twin, each well-presented and a contemporary bathroom, with both bath and walk-in shower. Situated in Trevor Basin, either walk along the canal, cycle (cyclists must dismount on the aqueduct), go by canoe or drive to The Telford pub, affording spectacular views of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct Heritage Site, where you can enjoy hearty meals and a refreshing pint, with 20% discount on all food and drink throughout the duration of your stay. For an afternoon out, head to Tŷ Mawr Country Park and follow a network of walking trails that lead alongside the glistening waters of the River Dee, or come face-to-face with quaint farm animals, including free range chickens and a pair of llamas. Be sure to visit the nearby town of Llangollen, accessible via car, canal or tow path, where you can journey through the rolling countryside of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley of Outstanding Natural Beauty aboard a heritage train from Llangollen Railway Station. On your doorstep, you'll find the perfect setting for nature-filled dog walks, bird watching, cycling and canoeing, with the chance to truly explore Clwyd. However you choose to spend your time, a break at Nantclwyd has lots to look forward to.

It sits overlooking the canal with tow paths in both directions. When you open the curtains in the morning there is a wonderful view across the valley with distant glimses of the aqueduct to the left and viaduct on the right. The house is homely and comfortable and well equipped. The decor is lovely and shower room excellent. We needed an extension lead and Sarah was very happy to help us. We did struggle a little with tight turning circle at the parking area, but it was worth it for the location.

It was very clean, well equipped and had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting in the back garden and enjoying the views of the canal and it was easy to get to the towpath for walking. It was easy to visit this beautiful area by road too. Our host, Sarah, was most welcoming, friendly and helpful. Thank you

The local village doesn't have many facilities but there are plenty of others in a few minutes drive. So many places and things to see and do locally you don't need to drive for miles, excellent. Property: Spacious property. Very clean and comfortable with all the conveniences you need. Large bathroom with a bath and shower, great for cyclists and hikers having a bath! Good towels in quality and size. Beds and pillows were very comfy. Lounge and dining room a good size, comfortable with a large TV on the wall. Kitchen is small but big enough for what we need it for on holiday. Parking, my wife is a nervous driver and wouldn't drive up the access road, for me it was absolutely fine but its something you do need to be aware of. Our car was an Audi Q3, any larger car than that and things might be getting a bit tight so check first. We loved the place and would go back their tomorrow FOR THE OWNER ONLY NOT TO be PUBLISHED in the MAIN Feedback: 1. As you know we had a number of minor issues which we left a note about when we left, I think it would be useful if the owner had a checklist as other than the leak in the bathroom the rest were avoidable with a simple pre-arrival checklist. I only mention this as we have stayed at a lot of cottages over the last 20 years and not experienced this number of minor issues. We had a great stay though and it would not put us off staying again
