Up the stairs will lead you to the spacious four poster bedroom which comes along with an en-suite WC, wardrobe space and a dressing table. Lovely French doors open out to the enchanting garden courtyard, with a far reaching landscape, water features and a pond. Furnished with a table and chairs you can sit here amongst the wonderful greenery and views out to the stunning countryside whilst you indulge in some al fresco dining on a warm summers evening. The village of Derwen holds many attractive buildings, pretty farmland and rolling wooded hills. Further afield will find you the Snowdonia National Park, picturesque Llangollen and the historic city of Chester where you can explore the many attractions available. Set in a superb location in a peaceful environment, Aber Clwd Manor is the perfect romantic getaway.
The rural village of Derwen is surrounded by countryside, farmland, wooded hills and the Clwydian and Berwyn Mountains. Close by, is Ruthin with its half-timbered buildings around St Peter's Square. Shops and buildings and the Ruthin Craft Centre, which houses work by internationally recognised artists is well worth a visit. Lakes Bala and Brenig, Moel Famau, Loggerheads Country Park and Llandegla and Clocaenog Forests are also nearby.

It is a historic property, traditionally furnished and largely single-glazed. The owners were most charming and helpful. I would have liked to have known in advance a) that some doorways involved ducking your head, hard to remember in the middle of the night and b) that the central heating is controlled from the owner's home. That said we would be happy to return as the area has so much of interest to offer and we were far from exhausting those possibilities.
