Snaptrip says

Guests have had a delightful time at The Cabin at Evelyns Retreat, praising its stunning views, cosy atmosphere, and enjoyable facilities like the hot tub and games room. The location is appreciated for its beauty and tranquillity, with special mentions of the welcoming touches such as homemade brownies. While there are minor suggestions for improvements, the overall experience is highly recommended for a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The reviews do not highlight any significant cleanliness issues, suggesting that the property is well-maintained. However, one guest mentioned a slightly messy field behind the property, which marginally affects the score.

The location is consistently described as beautiful, with stunning views and good proximity to local amenities. The only drawback mentioned is the proximity to another accommodation, which slightly impacts the sense of seclusion.

Comfort is generally praised, with the cabin described as cosy and well-designed. However, some guests noted a noisy fridge and a squeaky bed, which could disturb light sleepers, leading to a slightly lower score.

Facilities like the hot tub and games room are highlights, but some guests noted missing items such as a chopping board and table football, and a game room that was not as clean as expected. These points suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

While guests appreciated thoughtful gestures like welcome brownies and wine, there is not enough information to determine if such gifts are consistently provided to all guests. Therefore, it is politely noted that such gestures, while lovely, may not be guaranteed.

The location was brilliant, with shops like Aldi, home bargains petrol stations close by, good parking, interior decor was charming and homely, really appreciated the brownies on entry, hot tub was excellent, and table tennis and board games were well stocked, water pressure was excellent. However there were a few issues, mostly minor, but a few major ones which dampened the stay, and would've been ideal to have some warning ahead of time. We appreciate that all may not have been given, but for the price point, and comparing with previous experiences, there were some expectations missed. Minor: - The kitchen wasn't very well stocked. Salt and pepper shakers were empty, there was no oil, there was no chopping board (or atleast we didn't find one) - The bathroom had no toiletries and only one spare tissue roll - There was no table football as advertised Major: - Bed was extremely squeaky, to the point we were woken up multiple times during the night - The 'game room' seemed like it would be a room in itself from the listing, however, it turned out to be the garage with the door removed so it was always open. This is fine, except for the fact it seemed like the garage area hadn't been cleaned in a while so there was a lot of dust and cobwebs which made the space a little unpleasant to use. THINGS TO NOTE FOR GUESTS: - Not obvious from the listing, but there is another property right next-door and while the house itself is private, the hot tub is clearly visible to the neighbouring house. This wasn't an issue for us, but maybe for others.

The welcome was 5* and the facilities were great.

The Retreat is a high quality cabin offering lots of room in a relatively compact package. Everything was provided, and the hot tub made for a relaxing stay. The weather was awful, but we didn't feel "cooped up" when staying there.
