The Lion, a 400-year-old country inn, in the beautiful and tranquil village of Gwytherin (home of St Winifred and the 1st Cadfael novel), now completely refurbished to provide 6 Bedrooms (all en-suite) of the highest quality, featuring hand made furniture, traditional Welsh woollen throws and sumptuous pocket sprung beds. FreeSat flat screen TV, DVD player and free WiFi are on hand if you have time after enjoying the wonderful scenery and natural attractions this part of the world has to offer. All the bedrooms have countryside views and a full Welsh breakfast will set you up for the day. Many guests stay at the Lion solely to enjoy Fionas' cooking, an imaginative, changing evening meal Menu that brings out the very best from the wonderful, locally reared and grown, produce. There is also a Locals bar with a huge open fireplace, low Beams, comfy seating and local real Ale.. The Bar and Restaurant are open Evenings only, Wednesday through Sunday (evening meal reservations must be booked in advance). The Lion is a marvelous base for exploring North Wales, on the edge of Snowdonia, the inn is a 30-minute drive from Mount Snowdon itself and the same time will take you to the coastal resort of LLandudno. After about 5 miles, turn left on to the A544 to Llansannan. After about 4 miles, just before entering the village of Llansannan take a right turn on to the B5384 marked to Gwytherin. There will be another signposted left turn off this road before you reach the village of Gwytherin.OR: From the A5, take the A470 at Betws-y-Coed to Llanrwst. Follow signs for the A548 to Abergele. 3 miles out of Llanrwst take a right turn to Pandy Tudur. Following this road will lead you into the village of Gwytherin.
