Guests say

Stabal-y-Gwedd is a well-received cottage in North Wales, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and friendly hosts. Guests enjoyed the peaceful setting and the convenience for exploring local attractions. Some minor issues with facilities and maintenance were noted, but overall, the property provided a pleasant stay with thoughtful touches like a welcome basket.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be very clean, with only one report of cleanliness issues. This suggests that the property is generally well-maintained, although there may be occasional lapses.

The location is frequently described as excellent, convenient for visiting North Wales and Snowdonia, and offering a peaceful rural setting. One guest found it a bit too remote, but this seems to be an outlier opinion.

Comfort is generally rated highly, with guests mentioning warm heating and comfortable beds. Some guests suggested improvements like better WiFi, larger fridge freezer, and black-out blinds, indicating room for enhancement.

Facilities are adequate with some guests highlighting the need for better kitchen equipment and more crockery. There were also isolated reports of issues with water pressure and a microwave. Overall, the facilities meet guests' needs but could benefit from updates.

Guests appreciated the welcome basket, which added a thoughtful touch to their stay. However, as gifts are not consistently mentioned in all reviews, it is not possible to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gifts are a pleasant surprise and not guaranteed.

About this property

A stylishly refurbished, end-terrace former stable, now a cosy three bedroomed cottage. The interior benefits from exposed beams, while outside is the use of a communal courtyard and private terraced patio. Just two miles from the coast, this wonderful, traditional farm accommodation is ideal for enjoying this lovely area. Note: This property is next to Refs 10262 and 10785, together they sleep 14.

The lovely seaside resort of Abergele stands on the beautiful North Wales coastline and is uniquely positioned between the impressive Vale of Clwyd and the lovely Conwy Valley. Well known for the imposing Gwych Castle, which dominates the town, and its vast sandy beach, the whole area offers safe and secure bathing along with excellent water sport facilities. There is a coastal cycle path which runs alongside the Abergele seafront, whilst walking enthusiasts are amply catered for with the famous Offa's Dyke pathway. The Clwydian Hill Range and stunning Betws-y-Coed, which is known as the "gateway to Snowdonia" are all just a stone's throw away. The three historic castles of Rhuddlan, Conwy and Caernarvon are sights not to be missed and the quaint Victorian town of Llandudno offers quality shops, fabulous restaurants and a dry ski slope. Not to be missed is the exciting cable car rides over the Great Orme. This area offers plenty to do at any time of year making it a great place for short breaks as well as longer holidays.

Mouse droppings under the sink on arrival. Sugar spilt in the cupboard. Dirty oven and microwave. Generally unclean with cobwebs and dust under the bed. TLC needed due to wear and tear. Not equipped for five guests. Beds uncomfortable, woke up aching. Not a relaxing stay that I hoped for. Hospitality needs work all round. Complaint logged with Sykes.

Cottage was clean and well equipped with plenty of everything. Dishwasher and washing machine were much appreciated. Locality was great for exploring North Wales with plenty of places available within an hour's drive. A great holiday.
