Ashover Lodge is a quaint holiday rental with efficient heating and a location appreciated for its proximity to local attractions and entertainment. Guests have enjoyed the enclosed garden and the property's suitability for dogs. The lodge offers a comfortable bed and a private parking space, making it a cosy base for exploring the area.
Reviews indicate that cleanliness is inconsistent, with some guests finding the property very dirty upon arrival, while others found it clean and comfortable. The presence of dirt and the need for some guests to clean before settling in have impacted the score.
The location is appreciated for its quietness at night and safety, with an enclosed garden for dogs. However, the approach via a muddy, pothole-ridden track and difficulty in finding the property have affected the score. Proximity to bars, entertainment, and local attractions is a plus.
Comfort levels seem to vary, with some guests finding the lodge comfortable and others noting issues with the bed and furniture. The lodge is described as warm and reasonably comfortable, but the need for a makeover and the tight space around the bed have been noted.
Facilities are described as very old and in need of updating, with some furniture requiring replacement. Kitchen appliances and equipment were not up to standard for some guests. The efficient heating is a positive aspect, but the loud boiler and maintenance issues have lowered the score.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Accomodation was very difficult to find and up what could only be described as a dirt track full of massive potholes. It was behind a house and appeared to be a converted garage. The property was very dirty on arrival. The bathroom was manky. There were hairs on the very old lumpy mattress which was dirty along with the old dirty flat pillows. We arrived after a long journey feeling tired and before being able to relax we had to clean the accomodation as best as we could. Furniture is in dire need of replacing in the bedroom and some in the living area. Kitchen appliances were very old and the kitchen equipment all needed washing up before use. The only upside staying here was the heating worked efficiently but the boiler was very loud.

Another lovely week spent at Ashover Lodge. Perfect location for the bars and entertainment. But very quiet at night and safe.Enclosed garden for the dogs and comes with a parking space which is great. We have been here now on a few occasions and just feel now it is in need of a bit of a makeover. It is just looking tired. We would still recommend it though for all the things stated.
