About this property

Llanfechell 3.5 miles. Fron Dderw Caravan is a homely static caravan sitting near the owner's property in Llanfairynghornwy near Llanfechell, Anglesey. Although on shared grounds, this dog-friendly caravan is set in a secluded, private spot surrounded by vegetation, whilst providing off-road parking, three bedrooms sleeping up to four guests, and easy access to the beach. You'll head through the owner's garden into a gated, secluded area where the caravan stands overlooking the garden. Inside, the open-plan living space is equipped with self-catering essentials, including a kitchen area, dining area, and a sitting area with a large corner sofa, TV with DVD player, and gas fire, so you can hunker down after the day's adventures. There are three 4' double bedrooms, each with storage space, and a shower room and cloakroom. Your private area of the garden has outdoor seating to relax in the sun, whilst admiring your pretty surroundings with trees, plants, and a pond. A short drive brings you to Llanfechell where you can stock up on essentials at the village shop or dine at the Y Cefn Glas pub. There's plenty to see along the nearby coastline, such as Church Bay and the Swtan Heritage Museum, the scenic Porth Swtan, Cemlyn North Wales Wildlife Trust Reserve, and the charming village of Cemaes Bay; relax on the beach, fish along the bay, and stop for dinner at the Stag Inn. Further afield, the port town of Amlwch is a popular location to discover local heritage at Copper Kingdom Centre, admire the picturesque port, and head to the outskirts where the historic site of Mynydd Parys awaits. Elsewhere on Anglesey, you can visit the Oriel Môn cultural centre in Llangefni, head to Rhosneigr and Aberffraw for more sandy beaches popular for surfing, and explore Breakwater Country Park (Parc Gwledig Morglawdd Caergybi) in the bustling town of Holyhead. Discover all that Anglesey has to offer on your next staycation at Fron Dderw Caravan.

Llanfechell is 1.5 miles from Cemaes Bay on Anglesey's northern tip in an aonb. The village is named after the 12th-century Mechell Church, where St. Mechell is buried. The ancient Parys mountain copper mines, with their lunar-like landscape, are seven miles away. The area is popular with geologists and archaeologists due to the rock formations at Mechell Mountain and the several ancient monuments scattered around. Llanfechell has a village pub that serves traditional ale. Nearby Cemaes Bay has three pubs, a few shops, a natural sheltered harbour, and a sandy beach edged by grassy cliffs. Anglesey's miles of stunning and varied coastline offer walking, cycling, birdwatching, watersports, fishing, and quality golf courses. Anglesey Sea Zoo and National Trust properties and gardens are on this beautiful island, and Holyhead offers a day trip to Dublin. A family-friendly location.

Gwen the owner was lovely, rang to see if I needed any shopping before I left home. Got me milk and put the heating on for my arrival, was so welcoming and I got to meet her 7 lovely rescue cats. I just had a wonderful, quiet, relaxing week. A perfect place to head out from if you wanted to go walking and be more energetic though. (I didn’t!). Had a very happy week.

She is lovely and kind. Nothing to much trouble including filling the bird feeders. Plus it's ideal for exploring Anglesey. I'm sure this is not our last visit.

  • Phil
