About this property

Set rurally on the outskirts of Killin, a pretty, Stirling village, well-positioned within the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park is Taigh Geal, a contemporary, two-bedroom home. Within reach of a hub of amenities, attractions, and the stunning Loch Tay, Taigh Geal offers a well-equipped base for a family break, inviting four guests to explore this delightful region. Benefit from two designated parking spaces, with further parking in the visitor car park, before making your way to your new abode with your belongings in tow. Step inside to be greeted by a spacious open-plan area, where you can rustle up delicious meals and keep on top of your washing, dine as a four, and unwind with the TV for entertainment. For an alfresco affair, be sure to take advantage of the private patio on offer, perfect for those warmer months, before sloping off to sleep in one of two well-appointed bedrooms, including a king-size with TV and en-suite shower room, and a twin. The home is complete with a sleek bathroom, housing both a bath and a shower, and a cloakroom, offering plenty of space to prepare for your adventure. Once you're ready to explore, be sure to tour Killin, where you can stock up on the essentials, dine out at the Killin Hotel or the Wee Heilan Bistro, practise your swing at Killin Golf Club, tour the remains of Finlarig Castle, hike around the stunning landscape of Falls of Dochart, follow the pathways around the breath-taking Loch Tay, summit Ben Lawers, or grab your walking gear for a lofty trek up Sron A’ Chlachain. If you can tear yourself away from the local area, traverse the national park, with Ben Vorlich a popular peak with outdoor enthusiasts, where you can spend the afternoon freshwater swimming or kayaking at Loch Earn, before travelling north towards Aberfeldy, firstly stopping off at Kenmore Beach; be sure to visit Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery for a guided tour and the chance to buy some locally produced whisky, before following the walking trails towards The Birks Of Aberfeldy. The Cairngorms National Park is also within reach by car, along with the imposing and popular landmark of Balmoral Castle, before returning home in time for supper. Experience all of this, and more, at Taigh Geal.

The settlement of Killin has been inhabited for a very long time and is situated across the breath-taking Falls of Dochart at the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park in the Breadalbane region. Rock cup marks and stone circles provide evidence of a former population in this region. St. Fillan, who founded the mill that bears his name and founded St. Fillan's Day on the third Tuesday in January, brought Christianity to Breadalbane in the eighth century. Clan Campbell and Clan MacNab, two well-known clans, have a strong tie to the village. The Campbells had a stronghold at Finlarig Castle to the north of the community, and the MacNabs have an ancient burial site called Inchbuie close to the bridge over the falls.

The parking arrangement was laborious with heavy bags, as was the waste bin.
