Can Duran is a cosy, semi-detached cottage within the Highland Park estate, providing spacious, contemporary accommodation. It has been thoughtfully furnished to provide comfort and a welcoming atmosphere. Situated on the edge of the conservation village of Killin, within Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, the location couldn’t be better for relaxing, unwinding and leaving the stresses of everyday life behind. There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen near to your cottage, including red squirrels, wild birds, roe deer and red deer. Curl up with a book for a lazy afternoon in the cosy living room, or on warmer days, sit out on your covered front door patio. The well equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare that special meal, but if you prefer a break from the kitchen, then local restaurants are only a few minutes’ walk away.
Leave the car behind as there is an abundance of walks on the doorstep along the riverside and within the surrounding countryside and hills, and the spectacular Falls of Dochart. Killin plays host to several events throughout the year including a music festival, Highland games and a fireworks display at Hogmanay, and the village has a good selection of bars, restaurants, cafés and shops. The adjacent River Lochay and River Dochart, joining the nearby Loch Tay, are perfect for a spot of trout or salmon fishing, with boats, equipment and ghillies for hire and lessons available locally. With castles, historic monuments, whisky distilleries and a Highland Safari, there is something for everyone. Shop 800 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

The cottage is generally very clean, comfy and well equipped but seemed not to have been inspected for a while. The Xpelair fans didn't seem to be working and the bathroom got very steamy. There was a lightbulb out in the kitchen which made part of it quite dark. The TV didn't work according to the instructions so was difficult to manage. The scissors were damaged beyond repair and need replacing. The heating also didn't seem to be switched on - we didn't really need it but there were a couple of evenings when we could have done with it. None of this spoiled our holiday but was a bit annoying.

Very welcoming property. Good kitchen, comfortable bed, excellent en-suite shower. Great location too, just a short stroll from Killin and ideally sited for exploring the local area by car. We were disappointed that Netflix (advertised in the listing) didn't work, but as board-game fans, we were pleased the lighting was good for playing board games at the dining table. We'd book again without hesitation.

Can Duran was clean,cosy and comfortable. Modern home from home in beautiful Killin. Beds comfortable,kichen well stocked with utensils and a great sized living area to relax and watch t.v. village 15 mins walk where nice pubs and stunning falls. We would recommend and definetly return.
