Located just south of the historic ’Royal Burgh of Lanark’ which itself is steeped in history, is this gorgeous property in the small area known as Sandilands.

Set adjacent to a former railway line at the old Sandilands Railway Station outside Lanark and a 30 minute walk to The Falls of Clyde, close to the World Heritage site at New Lanark and in a rural setting, a few miles inland from the Cairn Lodge services on the M74. The property is best described as an ’upside down’ house, a design implemented to take full advantage of the view over the countryside on the opposite side of the road.

The house, which was built in 2022 and completed in autumn, features an open-plan kitchen and dining room on the ground floor, which has been fitted and equipped to high standards. A range cooker will give guests the chance to prepare a ’Masterchef’ style meal for one another and enjoy at the nice dining table. The dishwasher will take care of the mucky bits after dinner so guests can retire upstairs to where the living area and bedroom are located. French doors from the living area led to an elevated decking area. The shower room on the ground floor completes the accommodation and in tune with the rest of the presentation in the property has been finished and presented to high standards. Outstanding property!Greeted by Alan as soon as we arrived and offered use of car park.Stunning accomodation, so clean and numerous additional features. Alan took us through the property, fully explaining all ammenities. Washing machine, dishwasher, kettle & coffee machine, and sink with cleaning materials (separate from main kitch area). Fully fitted bathroom with walk-in shower. Kitchen/dining area includes fridge/freezer, Rangemaster oven & hobb, microwave oven and dishes, cutlery and kitchen utensils. Upstairs: ample storage, large king-sized bed, sofa and chair, beautiful furnishings. Outside patio: bistro set, x 2 loungers and hot-tub. Cannot rate this property highly enough. Lanark is approximately 2 miles away which has plenty shops to browse and supermarkets, and would highly recommend The Inn at the Loch for a lovely meal. The Falls of Clyde are a must, stunning scenery. We also travelled on to Peebles, a pretty Border town with lots of boutiques and gift shops. We will be back!!
