About this property

Perth 10.4 miles. Resting within the heart of Perthshire on the edge of the Highland fault line close to Crieff (10 mins), Aberfeldy/Loch Tay (25 mins) and Perth (15 mins), Morningside Cottage is based on a beautiful upland small holding and offers a couple a beautiful base from which to explore Scotland. A characterful cottage full of charm, this property is perfect for a pair seeking a digital detox, while being surrounded by spectacular views of mountains and moorland at any time of the year. Set in the hills of the beautiful Glenalmond, Morningside Cottage is surrounded by a host of upland wildlife including red kites, curlew, lapwings and deer. There are also blackface sheep, chickens, ducks and geese providing free range eggs and occasionally meat in season. Park up and soak in the beauty of your natural surroundings before entering the stone-built cottage to be met by the charming open-plan living space. Boasting a rustic feel with its exposed beams, stone walls and impressive woodburning stove, it offers a snug spot to unwind each evening in the company of your loved one. Find the kitchen tucked away at the other end of the room, home to a large range cooker letting you prepare all your romantic meals in no time, with the dining table making a lovely spot to spend quality time together. Dine alfresco out in your private garden in the summer months, watching the sun set over the hills as you toast to a terrific holiday. Take the winding wooden staircase to the first floor to find the double bedroom, home to its very own en-suite shower room with skylights providing a light and airy setting to wake up to each morning. Outside you can also find an external shower room, wonderfully convenient with countryside walks into the hills being available from the doorstep! Explore the local area by foot or bike, with so much natural splendour to discover, while a trip to the nearby market town of Crieff never disappoints, as it has become a hub for tourism, famous for its whisky and history of cattle droving, with attractions including the Caithness Glass Visitor Centre and Glenturret Distillery. In the opposite direction, you’ll find the bustling city of Perth. Perth benefits from a range of attractions to suit all tastes, from the historic delight of Scone Palace making the perfect day trip for the history lover, to a racecourse hosting a range of events throughout the year. Morningside Cottage makes a fantastic choice for your couples' escape to explore the many wonders of Scotland.

Methven is a large village resting in the region of Perth and Kinross in Scotland. The village benefits from a convenience store, Post Office and pub, as well as the additional delights of a church, bowling club, playing field with sports facilities and skate park, and a variety of charming businesses.
