Resting alongside the river of Ruthven Water, and a short walk from the local amenities, Daisy Lodge is a wonderful choice of accommodation for a couple or small family wanting to discover Perthshire, while the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park and the coast and beaches between Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy are also within driving distance. Enter the property to find a bright and spacious, contemporary open-plan living area, with a fully fitted, high-spec kitchen complete with all of the appliances you could wish for, including a large fridge/freezer, washer/ dryer, gas oven & hob, dishwasher, and an island offering plenty of space to prepare ingredients. Enjoy meals together at the dining table, before moving over to relax on the sofas in the sitting room, in front of the cosy electric fire and with the TV providing entertainment, while several full length windows allow in lots of light, and are equipped with blinds, should you wish to make the space dark and cosy to enjoy a movie in the evening. Alternatively, curl up with a good book in the snug, which has folding doors that can be closed if you want to enjoy a bit of quiet time. The lodge has two bedrooms to choose from, including a master king-size double with co-coordinating furniture in lovely grey and purple hues, as well as a dressing room, en-suite shower room and a balcony door that opens up onto the back of the property, where the river flows by. There is also a twin room, decorated in a similar style, with a zip/link feature and can be made into a double bed, meaning the property can cater for a variety of groups, served by the family bathroom, which offers a shower over bath. Outside, you will find off-road parking for three cars, as well as a choice of outdoor seating, with a side decking area and bench, a front, enclosed veranda and a rear patio with table and chairs, where you can enjoy an alfresco meal in the sunshine. The lodge park is set within 100 acres of woodland, with a river running through, offering scenic countryside and riverside walking opportunities, as well as being at the foot of the steep hills of the Ochils, ideal for more challenging walks and hikes. Auchterarder village is a short walk away, where you'll find a good selection of restaurants and pubs, including the famous Gleneagles Hotel, a luxury property with a spa, three championship golf courses and the only 2 Michelin Star restaurant in Scotland, a fantastic and luxurious treat to indulge in during your holiday. There is also a good selection of shops to browse along the extensive mile-and-a-half-long high street, which gave the Auchterarder its nickname of 'The Lang Toun' or 'Long Town'. The stunning countryside, woodland and lochs of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park is just over 30 minutes away, while the coast and beaches between Dunfermline and Kirkaldy can be reached in less than an hour, as can one of Scotland's major cities, Perth. Auchterarder sits amidst stunning rural scenery in Strathearn, Perthshire. The town was known as The Town of 100 Drawbridges in the Middle Ages, on account of the small bridges that criss-crossed the gutters and offered access between the road and the houses. Auchterarder was made a Royal Burgh in 1200, and was subsequently destroyed by the Jacobites in 1715, and only the handloom industry allowed it to grow and thrive again. Prince William and Kate Middleton were given the title of Earl and Countess of Strathearn on their wedding day by the Queen.
