Portknockie is a great place for walkers and those who love to take in the local scenery. The neighbouring village of Cullen, about 2 miles away, is very much worth a visit. The local delicacy of cullen skink (a thick soup made with smoked haddock, potatoes and onions) is very historical and a great dish to try. You can take a boat trip on the Gemini Explorer to search for dolphins in the Moray Firth from Buckie, a working fishing town about 4 miles away. Or, further afield at Spey Bay, you will find the popular Scottish Dolphin Centre and Nature Reserve. The famous Speyside Whisky Trail is also within easy reach and should not be missed.

Can’t recommend too highly. The cottage is clean, welcoming, and has everything you need for a holiday. The ‘welcome pack’ was a particularly nice touch - easily the best we have ever had. All of the above made this a really good stay - great communication too. Thank you so much Paul.

Portknockie Escape is a fantastic place to stay for a comfortable time away. We enjoyed it as it was easy to go back and have lunch ,read a book or just sit in the sun .So homely and cosy .

The cottage was lovely, attractively decorated and furnished, with a good heating system, and a well equipped kitchen. It's just a short walk from a stretch of the Moray coastal path with its dramatic coastal scenery. Extra touches in the form of a generous welcome pack made me feel, not surprisingly, properly welcome. My thank to the owners. I hope to be able to visit again.
