Around and About

Below towering mountains at the end of Loch Leven – often considered one of Scotland's prettiest lochs – lies the picturesque village of Kinlochleven. Boasting an abundance of wonderful walking opportunities through the magnificent countryside of the West Highland Way, visitors can also enjoy numerous fishing and water sport facilities in the nearby area. No matter what time of year, there are always things to do in the region, such as indoor climbing courses and activities at The Ice Factor - the world's largest indoor ice climbing facility – or the good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants which are situated in the town. Nearby Glencoe – a mere seven miles away – offers mountaineering, snowboarding, fishing and sailing opportunities as well as slightly less dangerous pastimes like as fabulous craft centres and the fascinating Folk Museum.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
