About this property

Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Scottish Highlands, Red Deer Lodge is a 3-bedroom property that makes a marvellous retreat at any time of year.

The open-plan living space boasts contemporary delight, where you can enjoy cosying up on the sofas with your family and friends after a day of rambling in the Cairngorms National Park. When you’re not making the most of the delicious eateries in the area, the lodge has a well-equipped kitchen in which to prepare your own meals that can either be enjoyed in the large dining area or on the outside terrace when the weather is fine. In winter months there are wood burning stoves offering welcoming warmth.

Red Deer Lodge has three bedrooms, one ground-floor king-size, and a first-floor king-size and twin that each have their own balconies. If requested in advance the lodge can sleep up to 8 guests using the double sofa bed in the living area. A contemporary and accessible ground-floor shower room and a family bathroom on the first floor serve as fabulous places to freshen up. With excellent outdoor space and being situated within a National Park, Red Deer Lodge is a perfect retreat away from a busy world. EPC Rating: Band B

There us loads of stuff to do nearby which is also good. The properties were private and had more than enough room for 7 adults to fit comfortably It could have done with a bigger sign as the property was a tad difficult to find as well as some lights to illuminate the pathway around the houses at night. The beds were a touch soft for our groups liking but that is just personal preference.

    2. My daughter-in-law said there was nowhere to sit in front of a mirror to apply make-up. The bedroom "had been designed by a man" in her own words. The mirror was in the wrong place (upstairs double room). 3. The light at the bottom of the stairs is way too bright and needs to be dimmed. The children wanted the light on and the adults, in the evening, found that light to be a real annoyance. You could not relax with it. We assumed that it was a daylight (blue) bulb because it was so bright. 4. You might like to check the kitchen sink waste pipe, which we thought was about to block up. It made some really strange gurgling sounds. 5. A few more cushions in the lounge might be handy to create more comfort. 6. Some members said they could smell 'dog smells' in the house. None of us keep dogs and we assumed that the covers over the sofa and chairs were to accommodate dogs. Do these covers get washed before the next visitors? I have a very poor sense of smell, so it didn't bother me. 7. If you had supplied a sweeping brush with a long handle we would have swept the floors during the week but we couldn't find one. 8. The location is superb and very convenient for everything we wanted to do. When the drain blocked the repair was done very efficiently and did not impact on our holiday. Looking out over the woodland was a delight each morning.
