Guests say

Cairnie View is a well-located cottage in Aviemore, appreciated for its cleanliness, proximity to local amenities, and the addition of a new cinema room. While some guests found the property to be comfortable and offering good value, others noted areas in need of refurbishment and maintenance, particularly in the lounge and bathroom areas. The hot tub was a highlight, despite some minor issues.

Most guests found the house clean, with one mentioning it had 'everything you could need and more.' However, one review mentioned bits floating in the hot tub, slightly lowering the score.

The location is frequently praised for being close to shops, restaurants, and beautiful surroundings, making it an ideal base to explore the highlands.

Guests had mixed feelings about comfort; some found the house comfortable, while others were dissatisfied with the lounge and outdated electric heating, leading to an average score.

The property boasts a new cinema room, which guests enjoyed. However, issues with the hot tub and general maintenance concerns, such as outdated information and fraying carpets, affect the score.

There are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owner, so this category cannot be scored.

We stayed over New Year 2025/26.We have been to Aviemore many times and know the area well. The house is in a good location, within a short walking distance to shops/restaurants. The house was well below expectations. The general decor is very poor and grubby. The furniture is old and some in very poor condition. The carpets are fraying and fixtures are in a state of disrepair. After the first day, we didn’t use the living room because it was so uncomfortable. The electric heating in the bathrooms/toilets is outdated, and so noisy you can’t use them. The tv room was fine, with a large screen,. On Hogmanay the hot tub caused the sockets to fuse. We had to search for the fuse box because the information booklet was out of date. We contacted the owner who arranged for someone to come the next day. We left two days later and no one had been to fix it. We assumed this was because it would have been difficult to get repairs over new year period. When we mentioned this to the owner, he said it had been repaired while we were there. This was untrue. The next door neighbour is lovely and helped dig us out of the snow!!I have taken some photographs if that would be helpful.

It was ok... just ok. Area is beautiful and we had an excellent time at the location but the house is feeling very tired. The cinema room is a little newer but that just made up for the lounge which we didnt find the most comfortable. We had to buy tea towels as there were none. The hot tub might have saved it but there were bits floating in it each time we used it so wasnt an excellent experience. We had plenty of room, except the tiny bathroom and we were nice and warm so that was a plus.
