Fort William itself is a hub of activity, often referred to as the ‘outdoor capital of the UK’, thanks in part to its proximity to Ben Nevis (17.5 miles). Keen hikers can take on this towering peak before returning to town for well-earned refreshments on the shores of Loch Linnhe.
