Upon arrival, you will note the beautiful scenery of the area as you unpack with ease at the property’s generous off-road parking space.

Once inside, you will be surprised to find that there are three different sitting rooms available, with one sporting double doors to the patio and flashes of eye-catching red décor, one featuring a woodburning stove to make you feel right at home and a smaller room with a TV for a more intimate setting.

A spacious kitchen with black tiled flooring and stylishly chosen furniture offers a generous space to create the perfect evening meal, and you can serve your masterpiece in the dining room where there is a large central wooden table and seating for eight guests.

On the practical side, a well-equipped utility room is to hand and Saltwinds also has a dedicated drying room with heating, clothes airer, storage of wet gear etc.

Each bedroom has its own bathroom, two en-suite and the other two just across a landing, allowing everyone their private bathroom spaces. An additional cloakroom near the public rooms is yet another thoughtful addition.

A selection of bedrooms offer a homely place to relax, including a king-size, a second king-size, and a ground-floor and first-floor twin.

Outside you will find a garden with wide-open views of coast and hill and the opportunity to sit and relax, if you wish with a barbecue and perhaps sunset over the sea and islands.

Situated in Skye, there is no shortage of activities to keep you busy, and the local area is the best place to start, with a convenience store, pub, the Oyster Shed seafood market, cafes and an art gallery, and the option for boat tours to see for yourself just how spectacular both the coastline and the wildlife is.

If you are looking for a taste of the local produce and history, head over to Talisker Distillery, where you will be able to sample tasters and take part in a tour of the process of creating whisky.

Throughout Skye, there is a huge number of beautiful and historical places to visit, one of the most popular and nearest being the Fairy Pools, only 9.5 miles from the property, boasting beautiful clear freshwater pools where you can picnic, walk and swim.

Semi-open plan layout was great for adults. If you’ve an inquisitive toddler or dog, not so much! Equally, light carpets and furniture gave us the fear… But that’s our issues rather than the property - I’d thoroughly recommend Saltwinds. Bright rooms for sunny days, cosy nooks for cold nights.

Spotlessly clean and amazing views. Hosts were communicative and have set up a lovely cottage.

Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. Although a bit of a drive, the location was stunning. The kitchen could have use a few more of the basics, but otherwise a great place to stay.
