Welcome to The Cottage, an 18th-century, single-storey, traditional cottage which has been lovingly restored by its owners and which enjoys views out over the ocean. It is situated on the family’s croft with lovely walks in the area. The Cottage has a double bedroom, a shower room and a well-equipped kitchen and the living/dining room has a multi-fuel stove which will heat the whole cottage.

The property is situated in the hamlet of Braes, a 10-minute drive from the main town of Portree where there are many restaurants, including famous fish and chip shops along with some boutique shops such as a soap and candle company. There is also a swimming pool, cinema, and boat trips from the harbour. On the road to Uig, you can find the Fairy Glen just before the village itself on the right-hand side, the Uig Pottery and the ferry going over to the Outer Isles. For those who like a good walk, you can also do the north of Skye loop, heading up and over to Staffin to Uig and then back to Braes via Portree, visiting the Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing and also seeing the dinosaur footprints.

Further west you can drive over to Dunvegan, visit the castle and also Coral Beach. Further northwest is Neist Point Lighthouse and the village of Glendale, which has its own beach and jetty where you can fish from. Make a day of it by exploring the north west and then heading back via Tallisker Distillery and the Fairy Pools, which are situated at the foot of the Cuillins. However, if it is hill walking you are looking to do, the Cuillin Mountain range, Macleods Tables, Waterstein Head will provide a challenge. An outdoor activity company near Portree can provide further things to enjoy. Beach 1½ miles. Pub and restaurant 6 miles.
