Peter &Gene are great hosts. The welcome pack was lovely with home made organic marmalade a highlight. The cottage had everything we needed & all worked well.We only watched dvds on tv twice as happy to enjoy reading and watching the amazing wildlife in the garden. The location is great. a couple of days we walked straight from the cottage _ 30 minutes later you are at the forest visitor centre / cafe with a whole forest and lochs to explore. Days out in the car allow you to explore the coast & countryside - we visited several rspb reserves. We had a great time.

Sadly, although in a wonderful setting, this cottage is in urgent need of an upgrade. The garden is truly wild and could benefit from a bit of tidying. There is no TV reception ( which we knew) but the dvds we had brought with us would not play well enough on the very old TV. The radio was old and not able to pick up any stable signal from anywhere in the sitting room. So a very silent holiday. Problem with hot water tap in kitchen, and big problem with hot bath tap. Iron did not work….came to temperature and immediately switched off. Magazines in sitting room from 2008! And minimal tourist info, also mostly out of date. With a bit of updating, this cottage could live up to its publicity on the website. Birds and squirrels in garden were lovely to watch. Comfortable bed.

Great base to explore area. Cottage was spotless, beds comfortable, lovely welcome pack. Peaceful with loads of wildlife right on the doorstep. Squirrels, birds and badgers come to the feeding station. Good cycle routes with visitor centre close by.
