Enclosed courtyard and garden with garden furniture and BBQ. Bike and equipment store. Private parking for 2/3 cars. Salmon and trout fishing by separate arrangement. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: The property has a natural water supply from a spring.. Gardener’s Cottage sits peacefully in the heart of the historic Bargaly Estate. As its name portrays, Gardener’s Cottage was once the home of the head gardener to this estate, owned by the famous horticulturist Andrew Heron and dates back to 1675. Newton Stewart is within a 5-mile drive and here is the gateway to the Galloway Hills which are every bit as challenging as some of their more loftier neighbours in the north.
important information - Palnure Burn River is 50 yards away in the grounds, care to be taken with young children.additional information - Zip and link twin beds in the 2nd bedroom can be made up to superking at time of booking. Natural water supply from a spring. Property will only accept small dogs. Salmon and trout fishing by separate arrangement.additional charges - First basket of logs for the woodburner is free of charge, remainder at cost.

Lovely, rural and pet friendly cottage in a secluded area. It had everything we needed away from home; from cotton pads, through can opener to hot water bottles. It was warm and very clean. The main attraction was sitting in the window and watching wildlife. As the area has zero light pollution, the night sky watching is on another level! Plenty of beautiful walks and hikes within walking distance, we had no need for our car all 3 days we've been there. Gene and Peter, the owners, were so welcoming and thoughtful. Loved it and hope to come back one day. Thank You!

Superb wee cottage set in a beautifully tranquil, picturesque setting. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Owners very friendly and accommodating, supplying a lovely welcome pack. If you like animals and birds this is place to come. Would love to come back one day.
