This quiet hideaway sleeps up to five guests and is in an ideal location for a family break in Scotland. After a busy day exploring the area, unwind in the cosy living room in front of the fire with a family film for entertainment. Food can be prepared in the well-stocked kitchen, or if you don’t fancy cooking, head to the hotel for sit down meals and drinks. There are three comfortable bedrooms at this lodge, including a double, single and bunk room, served by the family bathroom. The patio area overlooks the flourishing garden and offers a nice spot to sit down as the dogs sniff around the garden. The village of Colvend offers a well-stocked shop and a seasonal restaurant. Further afield, a selection of fine amenities can be found in Dalbeattie, or explore the stunning scenery of the Solway Coast, whether it be walking the hills or spending an afternoon on the beach. The popular tourist spots of Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbright and Dumfries rest nearby and are well worth visiting. An inviting wooden lodge, promising a delightful family holiday to this fine part of Scotland.

The little village of Colvend is home to a local shop, post office, and a seasonal restaurant. The area of coastline has many rugged cliffs and secret bays worth exploring, as well as a number of footpath and cycle routes to appeal to those more active. Cabin was comfortable and food in hotel was nice locally was brilliant but the only complaint was we expected lake to be on grounds as per pictures but it wasn’t even on the property think this needs highlighted as pictures make you think it’s outside cabin

Wonderful walks and beaches close by, as well as a choice of golf courses. The hotel has a lovely bar and restaurant which we even used for breakfast a few times. The chalet is clean and has all the amenities required for your stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, suggesting places to go. We can recommend, Rockcliffe, Kippford, Carsethorn and Sandyhills locally. But driving a bit further, Kirkcudbright and Carrick are well worth a day out.
