From the instructions Catherine supplied. The cottage was fairly easy to find. The private car park was a big bonus. As the car park opposite, can sometimes be busy. There's no sea view from the cottage, but it's literally a couple of minutes walk to the shore. The accommodation itself, is to a high standard. And the welcome pack, was a very neat touch. The setting was so peaceful, you could have heard a pin drop, at night. You do need to bring a "big shop" with you. Or shop in the towns locally. The Auchencairn community shop does stock some basic things. Along with cakes, pizza and a takeaway 3 times a week.Loads of walks locally. Catherine, was the perfect host. Answered all our questions promptly. Even brought us some ice cube trays round. For that all important Margarita, on a sunny evening! :-)We'll certainly return.

Beautiful cottage close to the coast with fabulous walks. The cottage is beautifully furnished with comfortable furniture and a well equipped kitchen. There is a lovely seating area at the front of the cottage, a real sun trap. It isn’t a private space as people park up and walk past so we did have a few moments with our dogs barking as people walked by. The cottage is quite isolated as supermarkets, pubs and shops being at least 9 miles away. There is a small shop about a mile away but this is quite basic although you can get limited hot food. We throughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage it’s a real getaway from it all. I would recommend this cottage although take plenty of supplies with you.

A totally amazing sanctuary on the Dumfries and Galloway coast. Well equipped, very warm and clean. The host kept in touch and felt with all queries quickly. This is a beautiful property and we hope to return.
