To explore the area further, head to the Solway Coast, where you will find miles of sandy beaches to enjoy. Alternately, you can hop on a boat to the Threave House and Gardens, perched on an island in the River Dee, with beautiful surroundings to enjoy. Enjoy plenty of walking and cycling in Galloway Forest Park and for watersports enthusiasts take a visit to Loch Ken. Further afield, is the larger town of Dumfries, where you will find a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy, as well as Dumfries Museum, the Robert Burns House and the Garden of Cosmic Speculation.
