Drive 6 miles to Crummock Water to hike round the lake or hire rowing boats to go out on the water. Spend the afternoon in Cockermouth, also 6 miles away, where William Wordsworth was born. Visit his childhood home, take a tour of the local brewery and choose between a fine selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants when it comes to dining out.

Step into this ground-floor apartment and find yourselves in a generous hall where you can slip off your shoes and hang your raincoats and jackets. Make your way into the lounge/dining room to take a little time out after your long journey.
