If you thought Sheffield was all about stainless steel then think again. Sheffield is the UK's fourth largest city and one of the greenest cities in Europe with gardens, parks and lots of wide open spaces and to top it all the Peak District National Park is on the doorstep. This vibrant city has a lively arts, crafts and culture scene and is home to the iconic Crucible Theatre. In fact Sheffield has the largest theatre complex outside London offering both in-house productions and touring shows. The Millenium Gallery is the city's premier place for art, craft and design showcasing Sheffield's amazing heritage alongside contemporary design. The Winter Garden is one of the largest temperate glasshouses to be built during the last hundred years in the UK. This impressive, multi-award-winning building houses a stunning collection of over 2,500 plants from around the world. Located in the centre of the UK, Sheffield is such an accessible city and, once there, getting around is fun if you hop on and off the super tram which takes you around the city and beyond. Why not hop on a super tram from the city centre and visit Meadowhall, one of Europe's largest shopping malls? Foodies will love the city with its great selection of independent restaurants, well known eateries and lots of coffee shops serving tempting freshly baked cakes and pastries.

The property is exactly as described. Really safe cul de sac and the house is immaculate. Dog friendly too which was hugely helpful. Host communication is excellent - reassuring to know they are there if you need anything.

It is a very clean and comfortable property, well-equipped and well-located both for city and countryside (whether by car or bus). Its location next to Millhouses Park and other walking routes adds to its attractiveness. It is ideal for a large party, with plenty of space for dining and lounging. The main improvement that could be made is to ensure that a printed handbook is available at the property or an e-version sent before arrival. Will (the owner) sent us one after our arrival as we had queries about the operation of the heating and the location of the fuse board. However, Will was readily available to answer queries and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay and may well re-book if we are in the area.

Loads of Buses and trains so you can easily get to the city and areas surrounding the city. From busy Sheffield to wild moor is only 2.5 miles. Beat that for convenience if you want National Park scenery. Loads of galleries and museums and green parks galore. Our base was great and a real home from home. We met Will and his adorable family and they helped us out with technology..... Old folk are technophobic you know. A lovely quiet place with an amazing park 5 yards away. Join the athletes... where do they get their energy? Every facility to keep you fit and for children to enjoy themselves. Visit the industrial village 400 yards up the road. It's so good. These were the best beds ever. So comfy. Shops and pubs around so you don't have to cook. Visit the Moor market in the city centre for The best curry. A wonderful culture-packed holiday made better with pleasant holiday accommodation. Oh, the water makes excellent tea... a real bonus. Well done Team Will. We will see you next year.
