The lodge has been newly refurbished for 2024, decorated and furnished to a high standard, this inviting base provides everything for a restful stay. Discover the bright open-plan living space, the social hub of the property, presented with elegant sofas and a wall-mounted Smart TV so you can enjoy cosy movie nights. Head in to the fully equipped kitchen, utilising a range of modern appliances including oven, hob, fridge, freezer, wine fridge, microwave and even a dishwasher, so you won’t have to lift a finger when it comes to washing up! Gather round the dining table and enjoy some good home cooked food, before popping open a bottle of wine and toasting to a long-awaited luxury break. The recently installed encapsulated blinds in the windows enhance the privacy of the lodge. A hallway leads to the newly renovated bedrooms, the first, offering a twin room with full size 3’ beds and wardrobe, while the master suite has a king-size bed plus a newly tilled en-suite with shower. The new tranquil family bathroom allows you to start your morning with a deep soak in the bath, before heading outside where you have a choice of two seating areas out on the decking, at the front and rear, complete with patio furniture- the perfect spot for an alfresco breakfast or to enjoy fresh air with your morning coffee. When you’re ready to explore, the village of Runswick Bay has plenty to offer; wander the narrow passages and quaint streets, take a photo of the only remaining thatched house on the Yorkshire coast, which was one an old coastguard’s house, before settling down for a delicious meal within the Runswick Bay Hotel, or if you’re wanting a beach-side snack, pop into the Runswick Bay Café down by the beach. Lace up your walking boots and venture along the Cleveland Way, taking in 109 miles of awe-inspiring scenery, rugged moors, calming coastline and a variety of picturesque villages along the way, making your way through the outstanding North York Moors National Park. Take in the delights of North Yorkshire with a retreat at Hideaway Lodge.

Runswick Bay, a historic fishing community, is without a doubt one of the great beauties of the Yorkshire Coast, if not the entire United Kingdom. This lovely SE-facing community located in a wonderful sheltered sandy-beached cove surrounded by outstanding cliffs and moorland landscape, 9 miles from Whitby. The town provides the ideal backdrop for relaxation and unwinding. Long walks on the sandy beach or along the Cleveland Way on the clifftop above are also enjoyable. There's plenty to do in the area, whether it's visiting Whitby's famed Abbey, Staithes' charming shops, cafes, and excellent art gallery, or touring the spectacular North York Moors.

Everything we needed (apart from handtowels!) was there and we settled in quickly. The beds were comfortable which is so important. It was spacious, clean and warm......no complaints! The gated site was quiet and well kept.....all in all, a lovely place to stay and to come back to after a day of exploring.

The location was perfect. We had a great week!

Last time we received a lovely welcome basket, which was a lovely touch, but there was just tea, coffee and milk this time. Standards have slipped slightly, it wasn’t as clean as it could have been, in particular, the kitchen cupboards were dirty as was the grill pan (there was some tin foil with grease on). Also we requested a high chair and travel cot which had been there last year but wasn’t there on our arrival this time, however one phone call to Sykes and it was sorted and at the lodge within an hour. However, the cot was very dusty and had a broken foot and the high chair needed a good wipe. Despite this we had a lovely week.
