Log fires, beamed ceilings and a well equipped farmhouse kitchen with an aga add to the charm and character. Warren Farmhouse enjoys unbeatable views and is fabulously located for those seeking a beautiful rural getaway. Whilst the house is only occasionally snowed in, particularly between December and February, it is best suited to people who enjoy being in remote countryside. The surrounding fields and heather moorland are home to an abundance of wildlife, including lapwing, curlew and red grouse. Ideal for walking, bird watching, active holidays with family, friends, or to celebrate a special occasion. The moors, footpaths and bridleways are on your doorstep, and Kildale’s small train station is on the glorious Esk Valley line to the ancient seaport of Whitby, passing through Goathland, Heartbeat’s village; you can even enjoy the leisurely journey by steam. Visit the Georgian market town of Stokesley where the partly cobbled streets are lined with inns, tea rooms and a mix of shops. Explore the heritage coast and sandy beaches of Yorkshire with seaside towns such as Saltburn, Whitby and Scarborough within easy reach, and fishing villages including Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hood’s Bay. Historic homes, abbeys and castles abound in this area with Newby Hall and Gardens, Castle Howard, the castle ruins in Helmsley and Rievaulx Abbey in the vicinity. We had a wonderful family holiday at this lovely spacious cottage, the location is stunning. All the rooms are a good size and comfortable. The large garden was great for the kids. We even had cows in the field next to the cottage having a peer in through the window. We would be happy to stay again if holidaying in the area. The wifi is not great though, lost connection for periods of time, and perhaps there are too many rules.
