Snaptrip says

The Anchorage in Whitby offers a quaint and central location for exploring the town, with many guests appreciating its proximity to local amenities and the charm of the cottage. While some guests found the property comfortable and well-equipped, others noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance that impacted their stay.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Several reviews mention problems with cleanliness, including dust, cobwebs, and unclean kitchen appliances. Issues with a soiled towel and general cleanliness upon arrival were also noted, suggesting a need for improvement in this area.

The location is frequently praised for being central and convenient for exploring Whitby. However, some guests were inconvenienced by noise from a nearby pub and difficulties with parking and access.

Guests have found the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy for smaller groups, but some reviews cite uncomfortable beds and noise issues that affected their rest, leading to a mixed response regarding comfort.

While the kitchen is well-equipped, there are several reports of maintenance issues such as problems with heating, hot water, and appliances. The presence of scaffolding and a lack of clarity on waste disposal were also concerns.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the property owners towards the guests, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

There was five of us staying and had plenty of space. The only downside was parking because there were two cars needing somewhere to park only one could use the parking zone indicated, we did find somewhere to park for free in the end so problem solved. Would definitely stay again.

Dirty and unkempt. Wasted so much of my time complaining about this to Sykes already. We will never be staying with you again you are appalling and your customer service is a disgrace. As long as I live, I will try to tell everyone I meet about how unhelpful you have been and also how disgusting your approach to helping us was, you were non-existent and when contacted we about as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

Also the hot tap in the ground floor toilet sink wouldn't turn off properly so was wasting quite a bit of water. Also one of the fire alarms kept beeping intermittently. Minor things really and easy to fix. Thanks Craig. T
