Whitby is also home to a beautiful harbour and an iconic abbey, both of which are waiting to be explored; venture down the 199 Steps from the abbey and tour the fascinating museum of Whitby, or unwind on the town's gorgeous beach, with Sandsend Beach being just a peaceful stroll away across fields via a footpath. For even more coastal fun, be sure to travel to Scarborough, a Victorian resort with plenty to offer, from the sights of Scarbrough Castle and Peasholm Park to the breathtaking ride of the Scarborough North Bay Railway and the vibrant beaches the town backs onto. Head inland to spend the day in Pickering, where the remains of Pickering Castle and tours around the Beck Isle Museum, along with access to the renowned amusement park of Flamingo Land Resort!
