Guests say

Rose and Crown Yard is a beautifully decorated, cosy cottage in the heart of Whitby, praised for its peaceful atmosphere, excellent central location, and charming views of the Abbey. Guests consistently highlight its cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped interiors, making it ideal for families and couples alike. The hosts are frequently commended for their helpful communication and welcoming touches. While the cottage’s quirky layout and steep stairs may not suit those with mobility issues, most guests found it a delightful base for exploring Whitby and the surrounding area.

Cleanliness is repeatedly praised, with guests describing the cottage as spotless, well-presented, and very clean throughout their stay. Only one minor mention of a boiler issue, but this did not affect the overall impression of cleanliness.

The location is universally celebrated, with guests loving its central yet peaceful setting, proximity to shops, restaurants, and attractions, and beautiful views. Only minor parking challenges are mentioned, but these do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Guests frequently mention the cottage’s comfort, cosy atmosphere, and relaxing decor. Beds are generally described as very comfortable, though a few guests noted the attic room’s beams and one found a bed too short. The peacefulness and homely feel are standout features.

The cottage is described as well-equipped and thoughtfully decorated, with most guests finding everything they needed. A few minor issues are noted, such as a lack of cooking dishes, a creaky bed, and the need to top up the boiler, but these are rare exceptions.

Many guests appreciated welcome packs, treats for both humans and dogs, and excellent communication from the hosts. While these thoughtful touches are frequently mentioned, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Lovely property that was spoiled for me by unnecessary artificial room fresheners that smelt horrid tbhThank you so much for having feather pillows - a rarity in most holiday accommodation Very comfortable indeed - thank you very much

Excellently placed, wonderful little cottage, a stones throw away from everything in Whitby.Four friends stayed for 4 nights and were surprised to find a bottle of wine, milk, and chocolates on arrival. Clean and cosy, it had everything you could need. Single beds on top floor were a little creaky, but not a major problem. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Good location, equipped well for our stay (family of 4). Owners gave helpful instructions prior to visit for directions and parking. Would happily stay again.
