A lovely spacious apartment not far from Whitby. We stayed in November and was a cold week but the apartment was warm and cosy. Would recommend.

Wow! Riverside Walk is a spacious, comfortable and well-equipped apartment. The welcome hamper was generous and unexpected. The master bedroom is spacious with a good-sized ensuite with shower. We spent most of the time in the lounge/diner/kitchen, which was comfortable. The underfloor heating was very effective. We didn't use the twin room or the office space because we were a party of two. The shutters on the windows were effective when pushed upwards as no light came in, whereas when they were pushed down light seeped in. Although the apartment overlooks the station platform there was very little sound from diesel or steam trains, so it was easy to miss them. There is a lovely footpath across the countryside into Whitby - 20-30 minutes walk with steps in woodland. We heard about another footpath along the railway and under the viaduct, which we were told was flat. The pub in Ruswarp serves good food, and we also ate at The Stables on the edge of Whitby, which was also excellent. In addition to the Magpie and Trenchers for Whitby fish and chips, we would recommend Quayside - the 30-minute queue was well worth it, and they not only serve gluten-free fish and chips, but have gluten-free vinegar on request. We loved this apartment and will return in future!

We had a fabulous time at Riverside Cottage. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped.Parking was excellent with our own allocated space behind electronic gates. It was lovely to see the steam train pass by on the railway lines behind us, and it was never intrusive. The Bridge Inn is opposite the property and had excellent food and drink. Very friendly. Thoroughly recommendedIt was a 25 to 30 min walk on the path alongside the Railway straight into Whitby, or the Bus stop was a few yards down the road. There was so much to do in the area, and we didn't see it all, so we'll be back, and would happily rebook the Apartment.
