Loved the unusual location of this property being underneath the viaduct & next to the river. Accommodation was good just a few minor issues with cleanliness, biggest gripe was the oven! Overall we enjoyed our stay but have to point out we had a problem all week with wasps in the property. This wasn’t just an odd wasp problem it was about 20 every day, after contacting the letting agency twice a wasp nest was discovered in the loft. Unfortunately this wasn’t until our last afternoon in the property, the top double bedroom was far too warm Which wasn’t helped by the fact we couldn’t get the velux window open! Overall we had a great stay in Whitby & any future stays in this property will be better with the wasp problem being solved.

Great spot, super peaceful, lovely views ftom the balcony across the river.Timeless! We had lots of space (four of us) across the three floors which allowed for privacy when needed. We would return for sure.😊We would give 5 stars but we did have a constant battle with wasps which seemed to appear from the light fittings upstairs. I suspect potentially a nest somewhere in the roof which needs attention.

The best thing about Quackers is the local wildlife. It was a joy to have so many ducks coming to the door in the mornings expecting to be fed. So enthusiastic were they that they would try to waddle into the house to make sure that they hadn’t missed any dropped grains/seeds. Little Egrets, Cormorants and seals also present on a daily basis. The negative aspect is the poor build quality of the house, which is incredibly creaky. Unless everyone goes to bed at the same time you will be kept awake by the movement of others. Also, it has three floors and the staircases are very narrow. This makes it difficult to get suitcases up the stairs. There was a bit of a problem with wasps, we evicted 12 from the bathroom and top floor bedrooms.
