Decorated and furnished to a very high standard, this smart three bedroom apartment on the east side of Whitby provides quality accommodation, accessible via a lift, and also private parking – a real bonus in this thriving town.

From the main hallway of your apartment, enter the pleasant open plan sitting room with dining area. A lovely bay window allows for plenty of natural light. There’s comfortable seating and a TV with basic Sky package and Netflix – great for chilling out after a day at the beach. Enjoy a lazy breakfast or tasty evening meal in the dining area, which is furnished with a table and chairs for six. Or better still, why not get a take-away and let the cook have a night off!

The smart kitchen is well-equipped, there’s even a coffee maker for that essential morning fix.

The master bedroom has a king-size bed, large built-in wardrobes with plenty of hanging space and dressing table. There’s also an en-suite shower room with basin and WC.

A second twin bedroom has full size single beds, a wardrobe and a long chest of drawers.

The third bedroom is a bunk room with adult-size bunk beds and wardrobe.

The smart house bathroom is fully tiled and has a bath with shower over, basin and WC.

It is a pleasant stroll alongside the River Esk as it curves into Whitby’s harbour. As you follow, look out for Captain Cook’s Memorial Museum along the way – it tells the fascinating history of Whitby’s famous seafaring son, who served his apprenticeship in the vicinity. Meander a little further through the cobbled ‘old town’ to discover interesting shops – Whitby is known for its jet and there are some fine artisan jewellers here, as well as antique shops, an old fashioned sweet shop and the famous centuries-old Whitby smokehouse – the kippers taste amazing!

Whitby has two sandy beaches, one of which is dog friendly. Other small fishing towns along the heritage coast include Staithes, Robin Hood’s Bay and Sandsend with its pretty seafront cafes. Further south, dramatic Flamborough Head, with its gleaming white chalk cliffs which drop sheer into the North Sea, is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest – a photographer’s dream.

From the nearby North York Moors to its Blue Flag beaches, there's something here for every interest and time of year. Amongst its many attractions, Whitby holds a charming atmosphere, home to winding streets and hidden alleys, where you can find a wide selection of eateries and shops scattered amongst them. Take a trip to the picturesque harbour and lighthouse to watch the sun set, or get involved in some whale watching or a coastal cruise to watch the creatures up close. Climb the famous 199 to the Whitby Abbey to immerse yourself with history, or visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum presenting historical and ethnographic exhibition about Cook himself. Hosting an abundance of leisure facilities, opportunities to explore the natural lands, and plenty of coastal delights, Whitby offers something for everyone.
