The cottage has lots of character and is comfortable and snug with the log burner stove in the living room. Lythe village has a pub next door and a community shop, plus an enclosed dog exercise green just opposite the cottage alongside the car park. Other comments have mentioned the road that runs past the cottage, but we found no issue, it is not a busy road and overnight there is next to no traffic so we slept undisturbed. The cottage is well serviced by public transport with regular buses to Whitby and beyond. The walk down to Sandsend and on to Whitby along the beach offers wonderful views , you can walk through Mulgrave Castle parkland and woods on Wednesday and Saturday/Sunday but it is closed to the public at other times. The round trip is quite a hike, but you could always take a bus on the return journey and avoid the walk up the hill to Lythe. We had a fantastic sunny week in February and walked everyday, our dog Baxter loved the beach walk at Sandsend to Whitby.

a lovely little cottage with good access and parking. the prppety is warm and well presented with quality linen, towels and furnishings, We booked as pet friendly and it is nice to have extra covers provided to put on the furniture and bed to take the worry away of any dirty paws. I would highly recommend this apartment

Clean and cosy, the bed was very comfortable and the cottage was well equipped. A very well prepared handbook for guests and information on the surrounding area was appreciated. I have no doubt we will be back. Thank you for a lovely stay.
