We found Heron mews comfortable and 4 adults and 4 grandchildren and a dog it can be hectic. Plenty of cupboard space in kitchen. Love Whitby and although we drove into it nearly everyday as we do have one grandchild who is disabled. There is a lot of wildlife on and about the river with kingfisher and heron cormorants seen. One issue was the internet is not good and in an evening the grandkids was all on the tablets. We had a room on top floor and the sloping ceiling’s was a slight issue for banging my head Overall I would recommend this house, beautiful setting near the bottom of the viaduct. It was clean. Would prefer an hoover with having a big fluffy dog hair gets trailed upstairs and before we leave do like to leave it as we found it.

Great location on the banks of the river Esk and very peaceful. An easy walk into Whitby along the cinder path, over the viaduct, taking about 25 mins to the town centre once we had climbed the hill from the accommodation to join the path. A good location to explore the area either by car, foot or bus.

We had a good weekend with our grandsons at Heron Mews. They had great fun crabbing in the river each day. It is a beautiful location and very peaceful. It was a short ride into Whitby ( or a 40 minute walk ) and we also visited Sandsend. We found the property well equipped and comfortable. The front door could do with some attention as we found it quite difficult to lock and unlock. Also the outdoor chairs at the back of the house need replacing but it is a minor problem as we don't think they would be used much.
