Please note: The height of the railing/banister for the internal and external staircase are low, and there are no spindles for the external railing/banister.. This beautifully presented, modern second-floor apartment is positioned right in the heart of Whitby on the East Coast. Situated in the desirable ’’West Cliff’’ location and close to the famous Whitby Whale Bones this home from home is a mere stone’s throw away from the 3 miles of golden sandy beach, and only a few minutes walk into the town centre and harbour areas. Ideal if you want to leave your car and explore the area on foot. Within just 50 yards you will also find a shop, pub and restaurant. Enjoying breathtaking and uninterrupted views from the lounge you can see out to sea and as far as Kettleness Nab some 7 miles away. The kitchen and bedroom also afford stunning atmospheric church views, that come into their own on an evening due to the beautiful stained glass windows. It is a spacious, well-equipped apartment that has recently been refurbished and provides a perfect base for couples looking to explore Whitby town, this stunning coastline or the North York Moors National Park areas.

Very Pleased to have stayed at Four Square. A very well furnished and presented holiday apartment on the second floor. Great views over the esplanade , the Pavilion and the sea coast from the living room. Comfortable and clean. TV and Wifi worked fine, and lots of books and games for kids and family use. We found the location great for our needs. If you want to go down to the harbour and over the bridge and the other side of town, and up the 199 steps to the old Abbey, it is a lot of ups and downs - But well worth it if you have the energy. Bus stops near by , including the Town Tour bus stop at West Cliffs, if you would prefer not to walk. Parking permits provided and we found parking easy near the apartment, but this was mid October and out of season. Great location too to tour the coast and visit all the picturesque fishing villages, and coastal walks. Great selection of places to eat at a range of reasonable to luxury prices, and for Real Ale fans lots of micro breweries with their own bars, and a number of CAMRA recommended pubs. Whitby has a lot to offer, we had a really enjoyable week, and we highly recommend it.

Biggest downside is that the bathroom is off the living room, which is a terrible design. The instructions for using the heating are wrong, as there is no yellow dial in the hall.

Sorry we no longer get a pint of fresh milk and Bothams biscuits.Very sad that despite numerous complaints about the lack of loo roll and a spare that we needed to go out early Monday morning to purchase a supply. This is not budget accommodation and in the previous twelve years these small items have been welcome. Not missed until they are not there.
