Guests say

Ewden is a charming and well-equipped cottage in the heart of Robin Hood’s Bay, praised for its spacious kitchen, cosy atmosphere, and proximity to the beach, shops, and eateries. Guests love the Aga, open fire, and garden, making it ideal for family getaways. While some mention issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and heating instructions, the majority highlight the cottage’s character, comfort, and excellent location, making it a popular choice for returning visitors.

Several guests found the cottage clean and tidy, but others noted issues such as cobwebs, dust, a slug problem, and sand, particularly in high-traffic areas. Some bathrooms and carpets were mentioned as needing more attention. Overall, cleanliness is acceptable but could be improved.

The location is consistently praised, with guests loving the central position in Robin Hood’s Bay, close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The only caution is the steep hill and steps, which may be challenging for some.

Guests generally found the cottage comfortable, with cosy beds, quality linen, and a welcoming atmosphere. Some noted issues with heating controls and locked rooms affecting sleeping arrangements, but most enjoyed a restful stay.

The cottage is well-equipped, especially the kitchen with its Aga and coffee machine. Facilities like the washer-dryer and underfloor heating are appreciated. Some maintenance issues (bathroom seals, carpet, heating instructions) were mentioned, but overall facilities are very good.

Guests appreciated little touches such as high-quality linen, a well-stocked kitchen, and a garden for relaxing. While some guests mentioned thoughtful details, there is no mention of guaranteed gifts or welcome packs.

Good location however you need to be able to climb steps as there are a lot about, in and around the property. The hill to the car park is a steep climb, not for the fainthearted. Cottage ideally situated for the Beach and pubs and restaurants. Kitchen well equipped and cosy.

Lovely cosy cottage in a great spot. Only slight criticism is the radiators are a bit temperamental and difficult to operate to get the required heat from them

Fantastic cottage in a great position. It was better than what we imagined beforehand. The open fire was lovely. We are a family of 5, made up of 3 young children under 7 and it suited us. Many thanks, we will endeavour to return in the future.
