About this property

Located in Fylingthorpe, a delightful North Yorkshire village is Braeside, an inviting, three-bedroom home. Resting within the North York Moors National Park, paces away from a range of local amenities, and a short stroll from the beach, Braeside offers six guests and their furry companions with a homely base, ideal for a self-catered stay. Park up on the roadside before entering the property, firstly arriving in the sitting room, complete with plush seating and a rustling woodburning stove, offering the perfect setting to unwind after a day of travelling. Continue through to the spacious kitchen, brimming with state-of-the-art appliances, including an AGA, electric oven and hob, and dishwasher, whilst a washing machine is located in the outhouse. Prepare delicious meals to enjoy as a family in either the dedicated dining room, or the rear patio, recommended through the warmer months. Return indoors to rest your eyes in one of the three well-appointed bedrooms, including two double rooms with sea glimpses, and a twin, all serviced by a bathroom and a shower room. Come morning, prepare for a day of exploration, firstly stocking up on the essentials at the nearby supermarket, followed by exploring Barnard's, a delightful bakery, or dining out at Fylingdales Inn pub. Continue on your travels towards Robin Hood's Bay Beach and enjoy a stroll across its stunning landscape, before heading north to reach Whitby and its host of attractions, with the chance to roue the remains of Whitby Abbey, enjoy an afternoon of whale watching, discover the pretty grounds of Pannett Park, hike towards the lofty Larpool Viaduct, or climb the 199 Steps landmark for the perfect vantage point. Travelling south will bring you to Scarborough, offering a fun-filled itinerary, recommended to visit Scarborough Castle, tour SEA LIFE Scarborough, visit Peasholm Park, brimming with exotic plants, and follow the Cinder Track through the countryside, before returning home for sundowners. Enjoy all of this at Braeside.

The charming village of Fylingthorpe is located just a short distance from Robin Hood's Bay and its fishing community. This village, which is located inland from the shore after ascending a treacherous curving route, was founded by Scandinavians in the ninth century and is now a lively village with a variety of services. Purchase some fresh bread at the neighbourhood store, Thorpe Stores, or fill up on necessities at Barnard's, a small bakery. After a long day of exploring the North Yorkshire coast, The Fylingdales Inn is a warm spot to unwind with a pint. However, the nearby community of Robin Hood's Bay has a greater variety of pubs and bars, several of which have magnificent sea views. When you are ready to continue exploring, turn onto the Cleveland Way and walk up to the wonderful Whitby town centre, where a variety of delights are waiting for you. While there, visit the eerie Whitby Abbey, which is thought to have inspired Bram Stoker to write Dracula, and then descend the 199 Steps to the beach. If you want to learn more about sailing in the past, enjoy exploring Whitby Museum, go on a Whitby Storyteller Guided Walk, or visit The Endeavour Experience. A great place to start exploring North Yorkshire's attractions is Fylingthorpe.

The cottage was as described beautifully clean and in a great location although we booked this cottage due to it having 2 bathrooms but when we arrived one of the bathrooms developed a problem and was not useable the toilet leaked through the ceiling with dirty water we did let the owner know the other bathroom toilet did not flush properly although we made the best of the holiday we would not use again and feel that some refund would not be unreasonable

Spotless and had everything we needed with really luxurious soft towels. I nearly always get back ache when I sleep away from my usual bed but never did - the beds were super comfy. Wine and biscuits on arrival. Great local pub with a extensive menu and the halloumi gyros were better than in Greece. 10 minute walk to Robin Hood’s beach. Great stay - thanks
